CEDIA Expo 2024 Recap

In Case You Missed It….

CEDIA 2024 was full of energy, from mind-blowing demos to people purposefully bumping into hurricane-rated outdoor screens (yep, that happened, constantly). We saw incredible new products and tech innovations across the brands we represent. Below is the recap, packed with key insights and standout products from the show floor.

Sony

Sony’s booth was packed with excited attendees, all mesmerized by the stunning visuals in their projector demos. The new BRAVIA Projectors demonstrated exceptional brightness and color depth, and their Leon Frame brought a sleek new way to integrate tech with luxury interiors.

  • New Projectors: The BRAVIA Projector 8 (VPL-XW6100ES) and BRAVIA Projector 9 (VPL-XW8100ES), offering up to 3,400 lumens of brightness and powered by XR Processing, were showstoppers  .

  • Leon Studio Frame: Designed for Sony displays, the Leon Studio Frame offers an elegant solution that blends TVs seamlessly into high-end home decor .

  • Professional Displays: Sony also showcased pro-grade displays tailored for commercial and business applications, providing exceptional image quality with flexible installation options .

Sonance

Sonance’s Experience Center was one of the most immersive setups, with their hidden audio solutions and outdoor speaker demos leaving everyone impressed. The new Custom James Soundbars, featuring quad-tweeter technology, took sound performance to the next level.

  • SA-4 Small Aperture Speaker: These speakers deliver high-end audio with minimal visual impact, making them ideal for luxury residential installations  .

  • Custom James Soundbars: Featuring quad-tweeter technology, this new generation of soundbars offers a more precise and immersive sound experience .

  • Mariner Redesign: The refreshed Mariner outdoor speakers bring enhanced durability and sound quality, perfect for high-end outdoor setups  .

Salamander Designs

Salamander’s booth felt like a luxury home theater showroom. Their Custom Seating options, complete with motorized reclining and massage features, left attendees eager to bring that comfort to their own theaters. The 3D Online Seating Designer was a hit, offering a highly interactive way to plan out seating layouts.

  • 3D Online Seating Designer: This tool allows clients to visualize seating configurations in real-time, simplifying the design process.

Screen Innovations (SI)

SI had one of the most action-packed booths at the show. Attendees couldn’t resist testing the durability of the KAOS™ outdoor shades—it became something of a CEDIA tradition to purposefully bump into them to see if they held up (spoiler: they did). Along with the creative Origami™ shades, SI offered solutions for all kinds of outdoor and indoor shading needs.

URC impressed with its TDC-8300 and TRC-1120 controllers, offering premium control solutions with sleek designs. Their integration with BlackNova adds luxury finishes to their control systems, perfect for high-end residential projects.

Lenbrook’s audio lineup delivered big, with the new Node Nano, New Node, and Node Icon streamers impressing for their performance in multi-room setups. Their CI-focused NAD products and Rubicore line are designed specifically with integrators in mind, offering high-performance audio solutions.

  • DALI Rubikore Series: If you missed the DALI Rubikore at CEDIA, you missed a monster speaker. madVR’s video processors drew huge crowds, with attendees eager to see their theater-grade scaling and HDR processing. They introduced a new model at a lower price point, making high-end video quality more accessible without compromising on performance.

Network Thermostat

Network Thermostat introduced flexible mini-split control solutions, which integrate easily with all major control platforms. Their comprehensive sensor lineup allows for precise temperature control, making them a smart choice for residential and commercial projects.

Juke Audio

Juke Audio’s Juke 2 amplifier made a strong impression with its easy installation and powerful multi-room audio capabilities. Their new TV Box also adds a versatile option for distributing TV audio across multiple zones in the home.

  • Juke 2: This easy-to-install multi-room amplifier delivers powerful sound throughout the home .

  • “TV Box”: Juke’s “TV Audio Box” (not its final name…) allows for seamless distribution of TV audio to different rooms in a Juke system, expanding to any home audio setup .

  • User-Friendly Setup: Juke Audio focuses on simplicity and functionality, making it a top choice for whole-home audio installs .

Harman Luxury Group

Harman’s booth was a treasure trove for audio lovers, showcasing a wide range of products from JBL Synthesis, Arcam, Revel, and the new JBL MA Series. From entry-level setups to massive theater systems, they had something for everyone. Whether you were an audiophile or a custom integrator, Harman’s display delivered high-performance solutions for every level of the market.

  • JBL Synthesis Systems: The JBL Synthesis theater systems showed off their scalability, with setups ranging from compact 5.1 systems to full-blown 7.4.4 configurations. The sound was nothing short of cinematic, proving once again why JBL Synthesis is a go-to for serious home theaters.

  • JBL MA Series and Stage 2 Speakers: The new JBL MA Series AVRs and Stage 2 speakers were on full display, offering an ideal gateway for those moving up from soundbars into component audio. The MA710 in a 5.1.2 setup, paired with Stage 2 speakers, created an immersive experience that was perfect for smaller theater setups.

  • Arcam AV41 & Revel Beryllium Speakers: Harman also spotlighted the Arcam AV41 processor and PA720 amplifier paired with the stunning Revel Beryllium in-wall speakers. This system delivered exceptional clarity, power, and immersive sound for high-end listening environments.

CEDIA 2024 was packed with innovations, from Sony’s breathtaking projector demos to madVR’s new video processor and the unforgettable experience of watching people test the hurricane-rated KAOS™ outdoor shades by literally smashing into them.
